Build the proposal

  1. In the project, click “Proposals” › “New proposal”. Start “From an estimate import”, “From awarded bids”, or “Blank”, then “Create draft”.
  2. Fill in the client and “Valid through” date, and pick the “Detail the client sees”.
  3. Edit the cover letter, scope, pricing sections (with optional and alternate lines), markup and tax, exclusions and terms. It saves as you go.
  4. Use the “Preview”, “Print view” or “PDF” to check it.

Send it

  1. Click “Send”, check the client's name and email, add up to five people to copy and an optional message, then “Send proposal”.
  2. The proposal page shows views, questions (reply from there) and every event.
  3. Need to fix something? Use “New version”. To replace the link, use “Resend”; to stop it, “Turn off link”.

When the client signs

  1. You both get the signed PDF by email, with a signature page and an audit trail.
  2. The proposal shows “Accepted and signed” with the signer, time, total and a link to the “Signed PDF”.
  3. Use “Verify a PDF” to check that a file someone sends you matches what was signed. The check runs in your browser and nothing is uploaded.

Change orders

  1. On an accepted proposal, open “Change orders” › “New change order”.
  2. Use “Change” or “Remove” on contract lines, or “Add a line”. The change and the “New contract value” update as you go.
  3. Click “Send change order”. The client signs it the same way as the proposal.
