Billing and plans
What's a seat?
A seat is a person in your workspace who builds things: uploads sets, sends bid packages, writes proposals, runs the punch list. Subs, reviewers, clients, owners and architects who only open your links never need one.
Do I need a card for the free plan?
No. Sign in with your email and start. Upgrade from the billing page when you need more.
Is there a contract?
No. Paid plans are billed monthly and you can cancel from the billing page. No annual commitment, no sales call.
Do I have to stop using PlanSwift, STACK or Bluebeam?
No. Keep measuring where you measure. EstiMates works from the PDF plan set and your tool's spreadsheet export, and sends awarded numbers back in that tool's own column layout.
Which takeoff exports can it read?
XLSX, CSV or pasted rows from PlanSwift, STACK, On-Screen Takeoff, Bluebeam Quantity Link, Sage and plain Excel. The tool is detected from the column headers and your column mapping is saved, so you set it up once.
Does it handle metric?
Yes. Imperial and metric are both first-class, including sets that mix the two. When a sub prices in m² against your square feet, the grid converts it and shows both numbers. A quantity column with no unit is flagged for you to fix, never guessed.
What does the AI actually do? Can it change my numbers?
It suggests sheet names and scales from the title blocks, answers questions about the drawings, and helps find symbols. Every answer shows the sheet and the text it came from. Nothing it suggests is saved until you accept it.
Do subs need an account to bid?
No. Subs get a link by email, open it on a phone or laptop and bid: lump sum or unit prices in their own units, exclusions, lead time, a photo of a paper quote. Or they decline in one tap. They never pay.
Can I share a set with someone who doesn't use EstiMates?
Yes. Send a link to a set or a single sheet. Set it to view or comment, add an expiry or a password, and revoke it any time. The person opening it doesn't need an account.
We already have a punch-list app. Why this one?
If you run the bid in EstiMates, the punch list is already set up: the drawings, your awarded subs and their emails, and the signed contract and change orders are there. Items tie to contract lines, extra work becomes a change order, and closeout ends with a certificate the owner signs and one handover link. If you need RFIs, submittals or schedules, a project-management suite is the better fit.
Does it work on a phone?
Yes. Viewing sheets, search, Plan Chat, bid responses and the punch walk all work in a phone browser, and the punch walk keeps working with no signal: items and photos upload when you're back online. Building bid packages and leveling is easier at a desk.
Do I need to install anything?
No. It runs in the browser on Windows, Mac, iPad and phones. You can add it to your phone's home screen like an app if you want to, but you don't have to.
Who can see my plan sets?
Only the members of your workspace, plus anyone you deliberately send a link to. You can export your sheet index, counts and awards as CSV or XLSX whenever you want.
What does “beta” mean here?
It means EstiMates is new and still changing. Before you start, you accept a short Beta Tester Agreement. Something may break now and then. When it does, tell us and we fix it.
